NOM DAIRY UK LTD SELECTS LINK LOCKERS FOR CHANGING ROOM SOLUTION
The new NOM Dairy UK Ltd production plant in Telford, Shropshire, is the latest manufacturing facility to benefit from a fully installed changing room solution from Link Lockers.
Situated in the heart of one of the largest milk fields in the UK, NOM selected Link Lockers to supply lockers and bench seating for male and female changing areas. These areas operate not only as a secure area for staff to store their personal possessions and day clothes but also as the uniform/workwear issue and collection points.
The personal lockers provide a clean/dirty facility through the provision of an additional horizontal shelf. This allows the locker user to keep daywear separate from workwear – an essential consideration in a food production facility where exceptional hygiene standards are maintained on a 24/7 basis. The design of the changing areas includes seating which is integral to the lockers to provide a comfortable changing area and sloping tops are also fitted throughout. This not only maintains a tidy environment but also prevents litter accumulating on top of the lockers which could potentially create a hygiene concern.
All steel lockers supplied by Link Lockers to the NOM facility feature BioCote protection as an integral part of the paint finish. This non-leaching, silver-based anti-bacterial technology reduces levels of bacteria, mould and fungi by 99.99% offers round-the-clock protection, working in-between cleaning to continually decontaminate surfaces of bacteria. BioCote is the only silver-based anti-bacterial technology which has had its efficacy proven in the field tests and is available exclusively from Link Lockers.
Uniforms are supplied on a twice weekly basis by the laundry provider who stocks the garment dispensing lockers with clean workwear. The laundry provider has access to banks of 10 compartments at a time with a key operated master door on the locker and barcoding which matches the garments to the locker compartment number ensures the correct workwear is provided to each individual.
Steven Oliver, Head of Quality at NOM comments, “In addition to supplying the locker and benching solution to match NOM’s specific requirements, Link Lockers also provided a delivery and installation schedule which dovetailed with the build programme.”
“A further, essential consideration for NOM was to source quality products from local suppliers in order to keep the environmental impact and carbon footprint of the new facility to a minimum. Link Lockers fitted the bill with a quality tested product manufactured in Telford.”
Lockers are provided to site in two phases. Phase 1 is complete and has seen the installation of 250 personal lockers in the male and female changing area together with the garment issue and dispensing lockers. Phase 2 will replicate this as production at the site ramps up to full capacity.
